Due to the ongoing concern regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus, there will be no participation in tournaments until further notice.
Ares Basketball is following California’s recommendation of not attending events that hosts 250 people or more. On game days, tournaments can easily have 250 players and spectators come through. By not participating, we help reduce the chance of exposure. We will continue to follow the advice of our state representatives and will continue to reassess the situation as more information becomes available. Please be aware that information is rapidly changing and will update you all as it becomes available.
Ares Basketball will continue to participate in practices and continue to follow the Coronavirus precautions we shared with our members. Practices will most likely continue outdoors due to school closures. Outdoor practices are dependent on weather and coach availability. This is subject to change.
Members, please ensure you have our Slack application downloaded, installed, and working. All of member communication and updates are shared through there to ensure deliverability. It is difficult for Ares staff to keep track of communications in several different areas especially in times like this. We encourage the use of the app for quicker response to questions and concerns. Ares staff members are volunteers and have several other responsibilities during the day. Messaging through other communications can distract away from important work. The app helps keep everything organized and easily accessibly to answering questions when available and highly appreciate the participation and adaptation of our messaging application we have had so far.
High School players will have communications coming to you regarding season details and adjustments. Slack invites have been sent to all emails for further communication.
Non-members/potential Ares family & affiliates – We are holding off on any other group training sessions and tryouts until further notice. For tournament affiliates, we appreciate your understanding of our club not participating in any upcoming events & appreciate all those who have taken the state recommended precautions and communicating your cancelations of your tournaments.
Please note that we have NO reported cases of our Ares Basketball members, staff, or affiliates of having or coming in contact with the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
Thank you for understanding and please keep yourself safe and healthy!
